Transportation in Andorra

Andorra's transport is road-based and compact: frequent public buses link the main towns along the two principal valleys, while shared shuttles and taxis handle the short hops to ski stations and hiking trailheads. The buses are cheap and reliable. But they thin out after 9 p.m.; if you're staying outside the capital, check the last departure before you linger over dinner. A rental car is a splurge that earns freedom to explore the high mountain passes at your own pace, just remember winter tyres are compulsory from November. There is no airport in Andorra itself. Most visitors land in Barcelona or Toulouse, then take the direct shuttle coaches that run several times daily. The ride is a fraction of a taxi fare and drops you in central Andorra la Vella. Skip the unofficial drivers who tout inside the arrivals hall, stick to the clearly marked service desk or pre-book through the official operator's site.
